DEVELOPMENT OF COASTAL TOURISM IN THE CITY OF BALIKPAPAN

Abstract

The city of Balikpapan is very strategic in supporting the National Capital to support economic, social and environmental aspects on an ongoing basis. Tourism in Balikpapan City is determined using the Ecotourism, MICE, Transit Tourism approach in accordance with Balikpapan City Government Regulations. The aim of this research is to develop an area that uses an ecotourism concept approach at a site location that is in accordance with
the Balikpapan City Regional Spatial Plan. The concept of an approach to coastal areas using environmentally friendly materials, local Kalimantan commodity vegetation, and a recycled rainwater treatment system is applied to the development of this coastal tourism. This concept can be applied to areas that have similar location characteristics, orientation, contours, zone regulations.
