The low reading interest among Indonesians has become a serious issue that requires innovative solutions. According to UNESCO data, Indonesia's reading interest index is only 0.0001%. The primary factors contributing to this condition include a lack of literacy practices and limited access to easily accessible library facilities. Meanwhile, technology that facilitates access to information has not significantly improved the culture of literacy. This study focuses on designing a reading park in the Kalianak area of Surabaya by utilizing container waste as the main building material. Kalianak, a densely populated area that serves as a commercial and warehousing hub, faces challenges such as limited access to literacy, flood risks, and underutilized container waste. The use of container waste in the design of this reading park offers a sustainable solution by emphasizing material recycling, space efficiency, and inclusive yet aesthetic functionality. This design not only contributes to fostering a reading culture but also strengthens the sense of community within societyDownloads
